Last night, on the eve of Valentine’s Day, lovers and friends gathered at the Blue Note Jazz Club in NYC to enjoy an evening with R&B star Tank. All attendees got the chance to appreciate the singer’s wit and musical prowess when he sat down at his keyboard and said, “Can I be talented for two seconds? That’s really not allowed in this industry.” It was a bold statement, but at the end of the day, it was honest.

The heartthrob opened his set with two cuts from his 2010 album, Now or Never, “Sex Music” and the Drake-assisted bedroom single “Celebrate.” He dug deeper into his catalog with a smooth falsetto-aided segue into one of his first singles, “Slowly.” Tank also sang a modified version of Omarion’s hit single, “Oh,” which he wrote for the younger R&B star, and let every woman in the house know that he feels that men are created to take care of women, especially him. He proceeded to give three lucky women cash for their hair, nails and any other beauty needs that they spend and arm and a leg for regularly. And with that, his point was proven — chivalry is not dead and gone.

Tank closed the set with his best-known single “Please Don’t Go” and left the single women in the audience wanting more and inspired every couple to head home and get Valentine’s Day started a little bit early. When it comes to music, let’s just say that Tank is the ultimate cupid.

Lovestruck fans will certainly look forward to his next effort, Savior, which is scheduled for release later this year. He has already teased listeners with the first single, "Compliments," this past September.
