Pharrell Prepping Billionaire Girls Club, New Book
With the success of his Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream lines, it only makes sense that Pharrell is extending his burgeoning empire in new directions.
Skateboard P recently revealed to WWD that he plans on launching Billionaire Girls Club by spring 2013. The producer-singer-turned-designer hinted that he may eventually expand so-called "streetwear" at some point, at least if his fashion role models are any indication: “Every Comme des Garçons show is just perfection, and Alber Elbaz is a genius, too," P said. "So is Marc Jacobs. I am so inspired by each one of them. They are totally imaginative. I wish to be that way one day.”
The 38-year-old also said he's working on a new book, Places & Spaces I’ve Been (shouts to Donald Byrd!). He's writing the book with designer Ambra Medda, co-founder/director of Design Miami and Design Miami/Basel and host of the recent Cooper-Hewitt National Design Awards, where Pharrell was a presenter.
In the meantime, Pharrell is keeping busy with plans to launch new BBC locations in China, as well as a collaboration with Ivy League’s former creative director Mark McNairy on shoes to be released next February.
