Jeezy Feels Vindicated After Gun Charges Dismissed

"Authorities drop case against rapper stemming from August arrest.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office dropped all charges against Jeezy, stemming from a Southern California bust in August.

According to the details of the case, Jeezy and five others were wrongfully arrested, which subsequently led to the dismissal. The CTE founder and his staff spent four days in jail on felony weapons possession charges, after authorities uncovered an assault rifle on his tour bus. The weapon belonged to his security, and was purchased legally.

Cops said they were searching for a weapon in connection with a previous shooting in Northern California. However, the firearm in question had already been cleared by authorities two days earlier.

Once they were arrested, police asked that the group be held on $1 million bail each, although the recommended amount is $20,000.

While the rapper’s lawyer says he is “pleased” with the dismissal of charges, he’s is “frustrated” by how long it took for police and prosecutors to “do the right thing,” hinting that Jeezy may have been targeted.

The rapper hopes that’s not the case, but he has his doubts. I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence,” he said a statement to BET.com. “Words cannot express how vindicated I feel with these charges being dismissed today. While my team and I always knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts, the rush to judgment by both the media and the police has been extremely disappointing. I'm relieved that the truth has ultimately prevailed and I would like to thank those who have always stood by me including my family and fans.”
