Lil Tjay Opens Up About PTSD After Being Shot Seven Times Last Summer

“I be feeling like I’m gonna die,” the Bronx singer tweeted.

Lil Tjay is doing some reflecting over an incident that understandably still haunts him.

On Saturday (February 11), the Bronx drill singer tweeted about having PTSD over being shot seven times last summer during an attempted robbery in New Jersey.

“I be feeling like I’m gonna die but I ain’t trynna go,” Tjay wrote. “that’s y I be steady going thru what I go thru I got ptsd.”

The “Calling My Phone” singer could also be referencing being arrested multiple times just last month. While on the way to a music video with Ice Spice, he was pulled over for a traffic stop that ultimately led to his arrest after officers reportedly found a handgun in his vehicle. Days later he was released on a $90,000 bond.

Less than two weeks later, Tjay was arrested on gun charges a second time, however, that arrest stemmed from a misunderstanding in regard to his initial arrest, according to his attorney Dawn Florio.

Lil Tjay gained popularity in 2019 with his debut single "Resume" and has since released a number of successful tracks and albums, including "True 2 Myself" and "Destined 2 Win". His music often features melodic hooks and introspective lyrics about his life experiences, struggles, and relationships.
