Lenny Kravitz Says Daughter Zoe Shops His Closet
Naturally, Zoe Kravitz gets her ultra-cool style sense in part from her dad, Lenny, who has boldly worn quirky pieces for men and women with effortless cool. But the X-Men: First Class star doesn’t just draw inspiration from the rocker’s style, she actually takes it, literally, and wears his pieces herself. Details magazine caught up with the rocker, and he opened up about his career, love life and his daughter, who he reveals is a big fan of his boas and other funky pieces he’s tossed aside.
“I look back at some of those pictures and I’m like, ‘Wow, that was really crazy.’ I would try anything: furs, boas, platform boots. I met Mick Jagger at the beginning of my career and asked him, ‘Where’s that outfit with the omega on it? Where’s that cape?’ He said, ‘I don’t know. I think my daughter has it in her closet.’ I was so bummed. But now my daughter, Zoe, has a lot of my stuff. She took all my boas from the Mama Said era. They were in storage, and I yelled at her, ‘Don’t steal my boas!’ She laughed and said, ‘Those words would not come out of most fathers’ mouths.’”
Zoe previously confessed to shopping her dad's and mom's, Lisa Bonet, closet,s and told ASOS magazine, “I used to be a little embarrassed by how she and my dad would dress, but now I steal their clothes all the time.”
And apparently the the practice is mutual! “My dad has totally taken my Cat Stevens T-shirt," Zoe said. "But it's OK—I have his Black Flag one and that's amazing.”
How cool would it be to play dress-up in this family?
