Date Set for Broadway Opening of ‘The Wiz’ with Wayne Brady
The new revival of The Wiz has an opening date on Broadway.
According to Deadline, March 29, 2024, will begin previews at the Marquis Theatre, followed by an opening night set for April 17. The musical will feature Wayne Brady in the lead role.

A sold-out, pre-Broadway national tour launched in Baltimore on Sunday (September 24). The Maryland city was the site of the musical’s original world premiere nearly half a century ago.
In addition to Brady, The Wiz’s Broadway cast is slated to include Nichelle Lewis as Dorothy, Deborah Cox as Glinda and Melody A. Betts as Aunt Em and Evillene, Kyle Ramar Freeman as the Lion, Phillip Johnson Richardson as the Tinman, and Avery Wilson as the Scarecrow.
