‘61st Street’ Series Starring Tosin Cole And Courtney B. Vance Gets Release Date
AMC Networks has revealed the release date of the forthcoming drama series 61st Street.
Premiering on both AMC and AMC+ on April 10 and airing weekly on Sundays afterward, the eight-episode series stars Tosin Cole (Doctor Who) as Moses Johnson – a Black high school athlete in Chicago who is taken into custody for being a suspected gang member. Cole stars alongside Emmy-winner Courtney B. Vance (Lovecraft Country) as Franklin Roberts, who serves as Johnson’s lawyer
In the series, Roberts must traverse the city’s infamously corrupt justice system as both police and prosecutors seek revenge for the death of an officer during a drug bust gone wrong.
BAFTA-Winner Peter Moffat was tapped to produce 61st Street and was assisted by writer J. Davis Shanks (The Chi). Additional cast members include Aunjanue Ellis, Mark O’Brien, Holt McCallany, Andrene Ward-Hammond, and Bentley Green.
Moffat is joined by executive producers alongside Elizabeth Raposo, Alana Mayo, Jeff Freilich, and Hilary Salmon.
