Kevin Gates joins the countless amount of rappers taking to social media to speak up about an incident during which 23-year-old Korryn Gaines was tragically killed at the hands of police during a standoff earlier this week (August 1).

Gaines recorded a large majority of her standoff, where some of the footage shows her talking to her 5-year-old about the situation going on with the police right outside their home. As the investigation continues and people pray for answers among their outrage and grief, another chilling video from an earlier traffic stop has since surfaced that has social media commenting on all sides of the situation.

Gates for one, came forward in a video posted on Instagram to share his support for the actions that Gaines made, commending her fearlessness standing up to the police.

“Oh my God, I love this lady,” Gates says during the clip. “I’m going to get this lady’s face tattooed on me. Call her crazy, call her what you want to call her. She stood up for something. She died for what she believed in.”

The Baton Rouge-born rapper then went on to express that Gaines did exactly what his wife would have done in the same exact situation and went on to say, “I love you with all my heart.”

Gates has made several strong comments this summer about his opinions on law enforcement, straightforwardly stating that he would kill any police office (and their family) if he or his family experiences an incident of police brutality.
