It may be Friday the 13th but this is no hoax.

R&B songstress Keyshia Cole took to Instagram today and announced some pretty exciting personal news. After 34 years, she was able to finally find her biological father through a paternity test.

Boxing trainer Virgil Hunter has been confirmed as her dad. Cole was understandably overwhelmed with emotion and is currently in Oakland attempting to make up for a lot of lost time.

“The story behind this is beyond me!!!!” she captioned in her IG posting. “God has his hands all in this!!! I’m so exicited. So excited with taking this a day at a time!!!”

Keyshia Cole has been publicly searching for her biological dad for years now and the stress of it has bled from the confines of her inner emotions to her music, and more. On her hit BET reality show The Way It Is, the singer, at times, went on a search for her father but was often met with standstills when it came to actually finding conclusive paternity test results.
