Odd Future’s frontman, Tyler, The Creator, has a problem with giving fans simply what they ask for. He likes to go above and beyond. 

Yesterday [May 13], Odd Futurists who showed up at an album signing at Newbury Comics on Boston’s historic Newbury Street got much more than a traditional meet and greet. One 13-year-old girl was arrested, a police officer sustained a back injury and all in attendance got to watch two Odd Future members escape the fray of the rowdy crowd only to spazz out on the rooftop of the store.

According to The Boston Globe, event organizers, unprepared for the crowd that showed up, called police officers to assist in calming the overwhelming crowd. 

The event was scheduled to be a typical in-store signing for the 20-year-old rapper’s Goblin LP, which was released Tuesday [May 10]. However the event, uncommon for such a posh area of Boston, was the typical rambunctious Odd Future affair.

Just this past Tuesday Tyler was detained by police outside of Los Angeles’ Westchester High School for disturbing the peace.The Cali MC appeared on New York City’s Hot 97 radio station this morning [May 13] to discuss his detainment.

“All me and this dude did was skate past, uh, I guess it was a cop where we skated past,” Tyler told Hot 97. “And they just came up to us all agressive like, ‘Who are you?’ and got out of the car. And I’m like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Why, why? What do you need?’ I know he’s grabbing my arm saying, ‘Oh, you want to be a tough guy.’ When I’m around cops, I get really, really deviant and sarcastic.”

The Odd Future crew will bring their out of control act to the New York City area when they perform at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom tonight.
