Shaunie O’Neal, Pastor Keion Henderson Tie The Knot
Basketball Wives executive producer and star Shaunie O’Neal and Pastor Keion Henderson exchanged vowels over the Memorial Day weekend.
According to PEOPLE, the couple tied the knot in front of nearly 200 guests for the wedding held at the Aurora Anguilla Resort and Golf Club.
The romantic festivities took place on the golf course’s 10th hole, with O’Neal entering while singer Yolanda Adams performed.
O’Neal expressed to PEOPLE that she didn’t know how she was going to get down the aisle, having just lost her father in February. Her three sons (Shareef, Myles and Shaqir) walked her down the aisle.
“Losing my dad in the midst of planning this wedding was a lot,” she said. “So my sons handed me off.”
The mother of five also had her daughters in attendance, too (Amirah and Me’arah).
Bishop TD Jakes conducted the ceremony at the resort, which the now-married couple said “immediately fell in love with it” during a past trip.
“I think after that first visit, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married,” O’Neal said. Henderson said Anguilla’s hospitality and rich history made him want to “start their journey” there.
The nearly 200 guests in attendance were originally only supposed to be 50, in hopes of a special and intimate gathering.
“We wanted our guests to have a weekend of enjoyment,” O’Neal said. “We just like to have fun and love on each other and wanted to to do that with our friends and family.”
Henderson recalled the night the two love birds first met and the undeniable chemistry from their first date inside a hotel lobby.
The two dated for two years before their November 2021 engagement.
O’Neal said Henderson was a great fit for her family, before they wed. She notes the family loves him “which makes me love him even more.”
As for Henderson, he says the feeling is mutual and the two “want to build a legacy together.”
