Kodak Black: Arrest Warrant Issued For Failed Drug Test

Broward County judge reportedly filed the warrant on Friday (Feb. 23) after the rapper allegedly violated conditions of parole.

A Broward County, Florida judge reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Kodak Black on Thursday (Feb. 23) for drug policy violations,TMZ reports.

According to the outlet, the 25-year-old rapper violated the conditions of his July 2022 release from jail after failing to be present for a random Feb. 3 drug testing. Authorities say he did come in on Feb. 8, but allegedly tested positive for fentanyl.

If Kodak is brought into police custody, he is ordered to remain in custody until his hearing from that July 2022 arrest, which involved oxycodone possession.

There is no set date for the hearing.

The rapper was arrested in July 2022 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after being pulled over for driving an SUV with window tint that appeared to be illegal. Authorities claimed they discovered $74,960 in cash and 31 oxycodone pills during a search of the vehicle. They also claimed that both his vehicle tags and driver’s license were expired.

He was arrested and charged for being in possession of a controlled substance without prescription and trafficking the drug. His attorney, Bradford Cohen, said the oxycodone was legally prescribed and said Kodak suffered “chronic pain” following being shot in Feb. 2022.

Ironically enough, his bail was $75,000, $40 short of the amount found during the SUV search.

Conditions of his bail from the July 2022 arrest was that he regularly be drug tested.

Following the arrest, Kodak claimed racial profiling and that he planned to sue the Florida police agency.
