Russell Westbrook Inks The Biggest Contract In NBA History

The 5-year $205 million contract is the largest deal secured in the NBA.

It’s safe to say that Russell Westbrook is in the midst of a very lucrative winning streak. After welcoming his first son, Noah in May, being crowned the NBA’s 2016-2017 season MVP in June and signing the most lucrative endorsement deal ever for a Jordan athlete earlier this month, it seemed as though his luck had stopped there, but not so fast.

According to BleacherReport.com, Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder agreed to a contract extension that would go down in the NBA history books. He reportedly inked a five-year, $205 million deal, making it the largest contract in NBA history.

Breaking down the deets surrounding the deal, BleacherReport.com revealed that Westbrook now owns the “biggest total contract in league history since there are six years and $233 million left on his deal.”

The NBA superstar put more than enough work in on the court to deserve this huge deal. He “became only the second player in NBA history to average a triple-double across a season, putting up 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game,” during the 2016-2017 season.
