D’Angelo Heading Out on the Second Coming Tour
Singer will hit 13-cities overseas starting next February.
It’s been a long time coming for D’Angelo, fully plunging back in the music he left behind more than a decade ago. Over the years he’s performed spot dates and co-headlining jaunts, but no album has surfaced as of yet. There is one new development in the neo-soul singer getting into the mix however: he’s going back on tour.
The 40-year-old will set off on the Second Coming tour overseas beginning February 2015 and continuing into early March alongside his band, the Vanguard. According to Consequence of Sound, the tour will combine his “popular hits with new songs” along with “fresh interpretations of covers.”
Over a one-month period, D’Angelo will hit European cities including, Zurich, London, Paris Berlin, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.
Apart from live sets, D’Angelo is working on the long-awaited follow up to his 14-year-old sophomore album, Voodoo. In June, D’Angelo’s manager, Kevin Liles, described the upcoming music as an “evolution of where he is right now.”
