Dr. Dre Covers AARP Magazine
At 50 years old, Dr. Dre has lots to celebrate and to commemorate his milestone birthday, the master producer lands the cover of AARP The Magazine.
Dre is dubbed “fearless at 50” by the American Association of Retired Persons, suited up in black on the special birthday cover.
Hitting the half-century mark comes at a great time in the Compton native’s career. Last year, Beats by Dre brokered a $3 billion deal with Apple, making him the first in hip hop to close in on the billionaire mark.
In music, Dre is at pioneer status. Apart from NWA and his solo work, the man who brought us The Chronic has groomed the likes of Eminem and Kendrick Lamar, and he’s not done digging for new talent.
Dre’s latest protégé is a 23-year-old white rapper from Texas named Justin “JT” Mohrle.
