People Are Shocked MAGA-Hat Owning Tom Brady Told Oprah He Respects Players Who Kneel
After Donald Trump announced the slogan for his 2016 presidential campaign, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was one of the first people to be seen with the unforgettable red "Make America Great Again" hat.
However, it appears Brady has deviated from this, specifically on the issue of Black players kneeling during the national anthem.
In a conversation with Oprah Winfrey for "Super Soul Sunday," Brady revealed he has "respect" for the players who kneel and the conversations they've inspired.
"We support what people are going through," Brady told Oprah
"We support what people are going through," Brady said. "I've been playing sports long enough. Everyone comes from something different. And I think showing respect for everybody is — you know, in a locker room with a team of guys trying to go in the same direction, you better have that empathy for everybody."
Brady also told Winfrey his team held "meetings after practice talking about how we wanted to deal with that particular situation."
