Here's The Name Of Michelle Obama's Memoir And When You Can Buy It
Michelle Obama has finished her memoir and we’re so here for its release.
Titled Becoming, the book will be simultaneously published in 24 languages worldwide and released in print and digital formats in the United States and Canada on November 13.
In a statement released to BET.com, Mrs. Obama says, “Writing BECOMING has been a deeply personal experience. It has allowed me, for the very first time, the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life. In this book, I talk about my roots and how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be. I can’t wait to share my story.”
The forthcoming book is expected to stretch the confines of traditional memoirs from former first-lady’s. Previously, Michelle Obama has given hints about writing a book in the limited public appearances she’s made since leaving the White House.
During a February talk in Indianapolis, Obama touched on her memoir and explained that she's become more profound now that she’s older. According to the Ball State Daily News, she also said that many women of color grow up with “doubts in their heads."
Barack Obama is also reportedly writing his presidential memoir, which is expected for a 2019 release. He’s also slated to promote his wife’s memoir on a U.S. and international book toor.
November 13 can’t come soon enough!
