Gunna and Black Music Action Coalition Join Forces to Invest $500K in Combating Economic Inequality in South Fulton, GA
Gunna has partnered with the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) in a new initiative to tackle economic disparities by providing financial support to more than two dozen families in his hometown.
The newly launched $500,000 initiative, Gunna x BMAC 30349 Guaranteed Income Program, will grant 30 families in South Fulton's 30349 zip code a monthly stipend of $1,000.
An official press release explains the program’s goal, which is to “give families a guaranteed monthly income via cash placed directly in their hands for a year and, most importantly, provide support services ranging from financial empowerment to mental health.”
Gunna and BMAC will collaborate with city officials, including South Fulton Mayor Khalid Kamau, and local organizations to select the recipients. The program will launch officially on September 18.
This effort adds to Gunna’s ongoing work to boost financial stability and quality of life in South Fulton. His previous initiatives include Gunna’s Drip Closet, a free in-school clothing store, and the Goodr Grocery Store at McNair Middle School, which provides students with free access to essentials.
