Iggy Azalea Lands Her First No. 1 With 'Fancy'
Azaleans, rejoice! Iggy Azalea has made history with her first Billboard Hot 100 No.1.
Her Charli XCX collaboration, "Fancy," has come a long way since it peaked at the No. 88 spot on March 22. An obviously excited Iggy tweeted the news Wednesday (May 28) with two simple words: "Number 1," followed by a personal tweet to Charli XCX, "Fancy is number 1. #DEAD."
Taking the top slot this week means that she's also achieved a status that only the Beatles have acquired so far. With her feature on Ariana Grande's "Problem" at No. 2, Iggy and the iconic British rock group are now the only artists in the world to have simultaneous rankings with a first and second place song on the Hot 100 list.
The placing also ranks Iggy as the fourth female rapper ever to top the Hot 100 charts, standing in line with Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim and Shawnna.
Her debut album, The New Classic, dropped April 21 at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
