Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Website Crashes During Men’s Launch Day
SKIMS is raking in the dollar signs.
On Thursday (Oct.26), Kim Kardashian debuted her new men's collection, consisting of essentials for everyday wear, including underwear, shirts, and socks. That same day, the website crashed and pulled in millions of dollars, as reported by TMZ.
Sources told the outlet it was the brand's most profitable day since the launch of the company in 2019. The website had 25,000 orders within the first five minutes of its drop.
“We’ve never had a bigger request than to launch men’s,” Kardashian told GQ before the line's launch date.
"Twenty percent of our traffic, and 10 percent of our customers, are already men,” explained SKIMS CEO Grede. “That means we’ve had 50 million men coming to site over the last few months.”
Earlier this week, SKIMS announced its newest brand ambassadors, including San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Nick Bosa, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Brazilian soccer star Neymar. The athletes stripped down to their underwear and showed off their abs for a collaboration that went viral.
“I was surprised by how many men, especially athletes, gravitated to the brand," Grede noted.
The collection features multiple ranges that focus on fabric and fit: Cotton, Stretch, and Sport in sizes XS to 5XL. According to Kardashian, a men's shapewear line is also in the works.
