All Tony Holmes was trying to do was unwind and watch his favorite baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals, on Monday night.
But when flipping on his TV, Holmes got sidetracked with the city's hockey team, the St. Louis Blues, and began live-tweeting his first hockey experience as a Black man.
Within hours, Holmes's Twitter account jumped from 1,600 followers to nearly 60,000, clinging to every word of his hilarious hockey feedback and making him an instant viral sensation.
He was even interviewed by Michael Strahan on Good Morning America on Thursday, with the show flashing some of his funniest tweets about hockey. Part of his appearance on GMA also had NHL Hall of Famer Brett Hull hooking him up with tickets to his very first Blues' game on Tuesday night.
Check it out.
Holmes's tweeted hockey observations were hilarious. And he has kept his observations coming through the week.
Now, all that will take this up a notch is Tony live-tweeting about hockey during a live game.
