Drake Reveals The Truth About His Industry Relationships With Rihanna, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Pusha T, And More
In a rare occasion for Toronto’s music behemoth Drake, the Scorpion rapper sat down with the hosts of the Rap Radar podcast to discuss the several moving parts of his career over the past year.
In the two-hour exchange with Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller, the Toronto-bred icon spoke about a few of his publicized industry relationships and riffs. Namely, those included his controversies with the G.O.O.D Music frontrunners Kanye West and Pusha T and former tensions with Chris Brown and Rihanna. He also briefly touched on Serena Williams’s advice for him regarding a second Meek Mill diss track that would end the rappers' former rap war once and for all.
Throughout the conversation, Drizzy dropped a few bombs that previously went unknown by the general public. We rounded together some of the most shocking of his revelations:
No peace treaty will be signed with him and Kanye West
“I think he kind of recruited a guy with a similar dislike for me, no matter what he says in interviews. I know that he can tell whoever, ‘I got love for him’ but it’s not love. There’s something there that bothers him deeply. I can’t fix it for him, so it just is what it is,” he said before later continuing. “I’m not just some kid that’s a fan anymore. Now we have some personal situations, and like I said, a lot of his issues with me, I can’t fix them for him.”
His respect for Rihanna and his squashed beef with Chris Brown
“I think we’ve come together before and tried to link and make music, and I think we were all just kinda forcing it. I think there was always resentment on both sides. At the end of the day, when you step away from it and break it down you start to feel silly because it’s over girl stuff. But obviously, that can snowball into real sh*t and that’s what happened in that situation,” he said before later speaking about the emergence of the Breezy record “No Guidance.” “We just both grew up to the point [where] that person in the middle of us is no longer apart of our lives currently. I have the utmost love and respect for her. I think of her as family more than anything. … I think she’s a good person with a good heart that would rather see us put that issue to bed.”
His real feelings toward Pusha T and the revelation of his son, Adonis
“I tip my hat to the chess move. It was a genius play. In the game of chess and definitely warranted my first “loss” in the competitive sport of rapping. By choice, I bowed out. After realizing the gap between us allowed him to drop a bomb on the world. That was all anyone cared about. I sleep well at night knowing that I didn’t get outbarred. I didn’t get doned-off by some crazy song. It was just [that] he told the world that the biggest artist at the time has a kid that he hasn’t told you about. I knew kinda for me it was over at that point. It wasn’t even about battle rap or any of that."

Serena Williams Told Drake That The “Back To Back” Diss Track Had To Finish Meek Mill
"I made the decision that I was going to go again. I remember I was working on some beat, I think it was a Boy Wonder beat. It was kinda more “rappy” it was going to be another 100-hundred bar thing,” he said. “I was with Serena at the time. We had been talking a lot about her and [Maria] Sharapova going back and forth over the years. She had made this comment to me and she was like ‘Well look if you’re going to go again’ … you gotta finish it. She’s a top competitor so she was like ‘You gotta finish it. I’m talking about done, over, and it’s gotta be something that everyone that he’s with and him have to hear. You can’t do some sh*t that’s for the moment and it goes away. She kinda put this battery in my back.”
