Sherman’s Showcase is back and ready to fill viewers up with lots of laughs!

Season 2 of the multi-hyphenated show returns on Wednesday (Oct. 26) and features award-winning actors, musicians and entertainers including Issa Rae, Chance The Rapper, Porsha Williams, Amanda Seales, Jay Pharoah, Chris Hardwick and more.

“We tend to bring in whoever we are really excited about, who’s doing the kinda stuff we’re really watching and loving and laughing at,” said show co-creator Diallo Riddle, while chatting with BET.com. “For us, this is almost like a yearbook where we get to bring in some of our favorite people from across all media and that includes music too.”

And when it comes to the special sauce that the second season has over the first, Bashir Salahuddin, co-creator and actor on the series, believes that knowing the lay of the land has made everyone involved more comfortable.

Each episode is hosted by Sherman McDaniels, played by Salahuddin, as he takes viewers through time, via music and comedy drawn from the 50-year library of a legendary (but fictional) musical variety show.

“We know the show better and we know ourselves better. We loved Season 1 and we wanted to make sure that we matched it, the diversity, comedy and the music. I think we achieved it!” he adds. “We want to stay true to that, I think if anything though we just have more fun this season. We have a lot of sketches per episode, a lot of moments per episode.”

With episode titles like “Sherman In Africa: Live from Lagos,” “ShermaSnatch,” and “Fashion,” there is a multitude of sketches, dancers, fake commercials, movie trailers, and cultural nostalgia to be seen!

“We finally got to do our parliament song, we always wanted to do a Parliament Funkadelic-like son,” Riddle exclaimed, noting that the team partnered with Dam-Funk to make that part of one episode come alive.

Returning guest stars include Morris Day, John Legend, Vic Mensa, Eliza Coupe, Rob Haze, Nigel Lythgoe, Tawny Newsome, Xosha Roquemore, Chandra Russell, Zuri Salahuddin and Bresha Webb.

Be sure to tune into Season 2 of Sherman’s Showcase on IFC and AMC+ on Oct. 26 at 10:30 pm ET, with AMC+ premiering the first two episodes tonight.
