Brooklyn Rap Vet Robert 'Pumpkinhead' Diaz Dead at 39
Brooklyn-born rap veteran, Robert "Pumpkinhead” Diaz passed away today at age 39, reports AllHipHop.
Though the cause of death has not yet been revealed, fellow emcee Immortal Technique confirmed the news this morning. “Rest in Power my old friend," he tweeted. "Life is too short. #Pumpkinhead #PH #RobertDiazRIP.”
A native of Park Slope, Diaz was best known in the underground hip hop scene and released his breakout single “Dynamic” in the late '90s. The track became a mixtape favorite, earning a slot on The World Famous Beat Junkies mixtape in 1998.

Diaz released four studio albums, the last being Know the Ledge in 2011. His guest spots include features on Technique's Revolutionary album series in 2001 and 2003 and Jean Grae’s 2003 EP, The Bootleg of the Bootleg.
