You'll Want To Hear Erica Campbell's Prayer For Donald Trump...
Gospel duo Mary Mary’s praise and worship songs have been a church staple, advocating for faith and devout prayer in the man up above.
And you can bet that Erica Campbell, one-half of the group, practices (or prays) exactly what she preaches — especially when it comes to the impeachment of Donald Trump.
During an interview with Essence, Erica and Tina Campbell sat down to discuss the wrap-up of their reality TV series, marriage and the controversy surrounding Tina’s decision to vote for Trump. The youngest of the sisters received backlash for openly revealing what convicted her to vote for the former reality television host. And though she doesn’t agree with his presidential decisions, what’s most important for her is keeping her prayer warriors on active duty during his four years in the White House.
“This man is not our God, and God has given us instruction for this man, which is to pray for him,” she said during the interview. “So me saying I stand with him means I pray for him, even now.”
Erica’s also keeping her prayers up for Trump, but in a different direction than her sister’s.
“I’m praying for impeachment,” Erica said afterward. “I just don’t think he’s equipped for the job. I don’t think he’s the guy at all, and I think his actions over the last month has shown us that he’s not equipped for this job. But, unfortunately, he’s in that position, so we have to make sure that we’re smart as Americans, and use our voices, and vote to make changes in an area where it really counts the most.”
In other words, vote and pray, everyone. Vote and pray.
