Prayers Up: Don Lemon Heartbroken After Older Sister Who 'Always Had His Back' Dies From Tragic Accidental Drowning
CNN’s Don Lemon has received many message of condolence after it was announced that his older sister died from an accidental drowning in Louisiana.
On Wednesday, L'Tanya "Leisa" Lemon Grimes, 58, fell into a neighborhood pond while fishing in the Livingston Parrish and drowned, according to The Times-Picayune.
Officers reported to the scene at around 4 p.m. on Wednesday and suspect no foul play was involved in Grimes’ death. The victim’s family released a statement thanking everyone for their support in this difficult time.
"The Lemon/Grimes family would like to thank everyone for their condolences and prayers at this time. Our family has suffered the tragic loss of L'Tanya 'Leisa' Lemon Grimes and we are leaning on each other for strength at this time. We appreciate privacy as we grieve the loss of our loved one," the family said in a statement.
On Thursday, Lemon did not appear on CNN and tweeted an image of his sister along with a message of gratitude for the messages he's received
