Kids in South Africa are in for a special treat next month—they will have the honor of being instructed by former NBA All-Stars and Georgetown centers Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning and Dikembe Mutombo at the Basketball Without Borders camp.

The camp will consist of young people from the region, who will work on their basketball skills, as well as life skills outside of basketball, a major focus of the camp.

Due to the guidelines of the ongoing lockout, current NBA players cannot participate in Basketball Without Borders. However, NBA coaches Monty Williams of New Orleans and Memphis’ Lionel Hollins will make the trip. The camp will run from Sept. 1-4.

This should be an extra special trip for Mourning, Ewing and Mutombo, as it will be their first collective trip back to Africa since 1994, when they gave basketball clinics in Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Africa.
