Report: Suge Knight Released From the Hospital

Former music mogul is back home less than a week after nightclub shooting.

Suge Knight is speeding down the road to recovery.

According to TMZ, Knight left the hospital early Wednesday (Aug. 27) morning, less than a week after he was shot six times. He will reportedly not require physical rehab and has already returned to his regular diet.

Provided that he keeps his bandages sanitized, Knight will not have to return to the hospital, the site says.

Knight, 49, hasn't been cooperating with police since the shooting at 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood, Calif., last weekend. He was shot during a Chris Brown pre-VMAs party, and although two others were also hit, Knight was likely the intended target. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office has transferred Knight's investigation to its Homicide Bureau.

Richie Akiva, owner of 1OAK apologized for the incident via Instagram Monday, writing in part, "By no means would I ever want to put any one of you, who have played a part in making the1 [sic] OAK brand what it is today, in an unsafe situation. In my 17 years of being in this business I have NEVER had something like this happen." Akiva goes on to call the shooting a "planned assault" but doesn't elaborate.

A report in the New York Post alleges that Knight was shot to stop him from penning a tell-all book about his life in the music industry. The book would've been a "huge best seller," so says a source.
