R&B singer Craig David recently revealed that he’s been celibate!

In an interview, the 43-year-old singer told TMZ that he’s been celibate for two years because he wanted to take a step back from intimacy to “heal his own issues.”

David also admitted that without the distraction of sex and intimacy, he’s found a creative spark that’s got him in the studio again! David said, “'I know to the date, It's been two years now for me [without sex]. But funnily, much as I was like 'Wow!' to myself for the moment, [my] creativity has been on a 100, on a max, for those two years.'

This is a far cry from the crooner who sang about making love to a woman by Wednesday after meeting her Monday. David hopes his celibacy mentally prepares him to meet his next girlfriend because the “Fill Me In” singer wants to start a relationship from “a good place.” During an interview with the Louis Theroux Podcast, David said, “'I realized that me not having healed my own issues meant I was never in a position to be open to someone else.”

Because of those feelings, David knew he had to “pull back.” But that doesn’t mean he’s not out here dating ladies. Mr. David is still on the market; it’s just not a meat market. He said, “[It] does mean not outwardly going on dates. The sexual interactions are going to have to stop now. Just cut that off.”

The singer said, “If we can't deep dive, if I can't have a conversation and at the same time laugh like crazy with you, and see the beauty from within you, then we're just gonna be doing the same game that I've been playing since day one.” This man wants real love!
