Rihanna Warns to ‘Never’ Make Her a Love Song

“That is corny, trust me. I’ve seen it,” the singer and businesswoman said.

Don’t expect Rihanna to have a love song playlist, even with Valentine’s Day around the corner.

The 9-time Grammy winner and businesswoman promoted the new Savage X Fenty Love Your Way collection in a clip posted on Tuesday, January 28. While decorating a cake, Rihanna was asked to choose multiple either-or questions, including “Valentine or Galentine?” or “Getaway or Stay At Home?” But when the game got to “Love Song or Love Letter?” the “Loveeee Song” artist looked visibly disgusted.

“Ugh! Please never make me a love song,” Rihanna said. “That is corny. Trust me. I’ve seen it.”

While social media swirled with rumors about love songs that were dedicated to Rihanna, particularly ones by Drake and Chris Brown, the Bajan singer has co-signed at least one love song dedicated to her: “D.M.B.” by her partner and father of her two sons, A$AP Rocky. In fact, Rihanna co-starred in the 2022 music video.

Elsewhere in the Savage X Fenty promo, Rihanna chose between “Flirty Banter or Heart-to-Heart?” and two NSFW questions before dropping her cake on the floor.

While she might not be a love song fan, Rihanna’s catalog has seen no shortage of romantic tracks, some of which are on her eighth and most recent album, “Anti,” which celebrated its ninth birthday this week.
