'A Quiet Place: Day One' Comes to Paramount+ Exclusively on August 27

Paramount+ has announced that the highly anticipated film "A Quiet Place: Day One," a gripping thriller that delves into the chilling origins of this horror phenomenon, will stream exclusively on the service beginning Tuesday, August 27, in the U.S. and Canada.
The box-office hit opened to $100 million worldwide and set a franchise record for the biggest opening. The film has grossed over $261 million globally, solidifying its place as a standout in the franchise.
The film continues the terrifying saga of the "A Quiet Place" universe, taking viewers back to the day the world fell silent. Lupita Nyong’o stars as Samira, whose simple trip home to New York City transforms into a nightmare when mysterious creatures that hunt by sound attack. Joined by her cat, Frodo, and an unexpected ally, Eric (played by Joseph Quinn), Samira embarks on a perilous journey through a city plunged into silence, where the only rule is to stay quiet to survive. Djimon Hounsou and Alex Wolff are also featured in the thriller.
In a recent interview with BET, Nyong'o discussed her venture into horror, noting the growing presence of Black actors in the genre. "We want to stay alive," she joked. "The tide has changed. I feel very lucky to be able to contribute to the diversity of cinema today. It's nice to see us in new spaces, both in front and behind the camera, and being a part of the global conversation." Nyong'o's portrayal of Samira was a masterclass in suspense and survival, blending her unique strength and vulnerability to create a character audiences will root for.
