Bobby Shmurda's Family Is Determined to Bail Him Out
Yesterday (June 25), Bobby Shmurda declined the plea deal that the court offered him of eight years in prison and five years on probation. With the trial set to start on October 5, Shmurda still needs to make bail to get out of Rikers Island Correctional Facility before the proceedings begin.
Hot 97's Ebro Darden posted an image on Instagram of the Go Fund Me campaign that Shmurda's family set up in hopes of raising $2 million to bail him out. Ebro captioned the photo saying, "This is for Bond collateral. His family doesn't have $2M in credit, but his Mom saved his $ so they have the $200K bond... Bobby maintains his innocence." Considering Shmurda received a lot of verbal support from fellow emcees, hopefully he'll receive financial support from them as well.
The "Hot N***a" rapper spoke with XXL to update the people on what artists have been showing support. Meek Mill stood out amongst the many other artists he listed such as Maino, French Montana, Migos and Fabolous.
Meek was just released from prison last December, which creates a sense of relatability. "Meek sent me some letters," he said."I tried to send some back. I’m trying to get in contact with him. I got a lot of love for Meek Mill, man. That’s my guy right there. I got a lot of love for him right there. That’s big bro."
