UPDATE:

Was it bad credit that put Yung Berg in a bad mood? According to TMZ the woman Berg is accused of assaulting is Love & Hip Hop Hollywood co-star Masika Tucker.

Friends of the aspiring model told TMZ that the drunken attack happened after Berg’s credit card was declined following a night of drinking in New York City. The producer-rapper reportedly stormed out of the club and went back to his hotel where an argument between the couple ensued.

Berg was arrested for allegedly choking and pulling Masika out of the room by her hair.

News of the couple dating comes as a surprise to many fans of the show, since they are not yet an item in the first season, which is currently airing on VH1. The entire cast is in NYC to tape the reunion special this week.

Chicago-born rapper Yung Berg was picked up in New York City early Wednesday (Nov. 5) morning and charged with obstruction of breathing.

According to TMZ, Berg and his as yet unidentified girlfriend got into a violent argument at the Gershwin Hotel. Berg allegedly "grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the floor, dragged her by her hair, and hit her in the face."

When police arrived on the scene, the report continues, she "had bruises" and "complained she was in pain."

Hours before Berg was taken into custody, he tweeted a link to an Instagram pic captioned, "Bae."
