Find Out Why Bradley Cooper Won't Get to Make Out With Beyoncé
This past weekend, Page Six reported on a rumor that Beyoncé had signed on to play the lead in A Star Is Born, directed by and co-starring The Hangover's Bradley Cooper. “Beyoncé is a go,” a source confidently relayed.
Well, Beyoncé is not a go. Turns out, the news is "just a rumor," according to Cooper himself. Speaking to reporters at the red carpet premiere of his new film, Joy, he did say, "I would be honored obviously to work with her in any capacity.”
For the time being, that will not include a make-out scene between a flamed-out movie star and a young ingénue, as is depicted in A Star Is Born.
Bey has been attached to A Star Is Born before. The project was previously being developed as a starring vehicle for her with Clint Eastwood attached to direct, and before that, One Fine Day director Michael Hoffman was holding the reigns.
At this point it seems that the pop icon is focusing on roles that will not require her to sing. Another (hopefully more reliable source) revealed last week that she's looking to play an "African-American icon." Go for that Oscar, Bey!
There probably aren't many people on the planet who wouldn't leap at the chance to work with Beyoncé, but we found one person who didn't know who she is. Watch a BET Breaks recap of the time Holly Holm got KO-ed by social media for forgetting the Queen's name, below:
