Maino Threatens Trinidad James
Trinidad James got a lesson in controversy, thanks to Maino's Twitterfeed early this morning.
Maino's issue with James stems from the night before, when the Atlanta native dissed New York rap in front of a New York crowd. “I remember when New York ran this s--t," he said during a performance for the Converse Rubber Tracks show. “I remember when New York ran this s--t, dog.
"When Dipset was f---in' turned the f--k up," James reminisced. "Oh my God. I gotta wear my bandana on tilt like Juelz. What the f--k happened, dog? What happened? I remember when New York rap was the s--t. And us in the South, us bammas, we was like ‘what the f--k’ and we just did our own thing. But now we run y’all musically. That’s crazy."
Brooklyn native Maino reacted to the rant, tweeting "S/O to all the NY n---s who let this Rotten Teeth n---a @TrinidadJamesGG disrespect us lastnite! #whathappened," followed by a threat to his fellow New Yorkers. "After we clean this guy @trinidadjamesGG up I'm straighten a few of u NY n---s out for being the Vaginas that u R!"
He aimed more tweets at James a moment later. "Heyy buddy @trinidadjamesGG I'll be ur Huckleberry! Lol," he wrote. "Imma brush those teeth when I see u baby boy. U a street n---a rite? Lmao."
After clarifying his initial statements and naming some of his favorite Big Apple rappers, the "All Gold Everything" rhymer tweeted back, "@mainohustlehard you a real n---a Bruh. You don't have to say that on twitter. You better than that. u can hit my line my n---a. That's 100."
James followed up the post with a longer statement via Instagram and Tumblr, accusing Maino of threatening to shoot him. "Maino wanna shoot me for saying the truth then shoot on," he urged. "I ain't backtracking s--t. Ny consumers are a disgrace to their own culture, I don't ever have to make it on the radio. F--k the radio. I'll die a real n---a. I speak the truth…and the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE."
Maino eventually denied having any real beef with James and quipped that he would rather "tie him to a Dentist's chair."
