Lil’ Kim To Release Cannabis Brand ‘Aphrodisiac’
Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Kim has announced that she is launching her own cannabis brand in 2022. After partnering with Superbad Inc. founder Carlos Dew, Kim’s weed line, Aphrodisiac, will be available in California very soon.
In an interview with Forbes, Kim says she has been working on the brand for almost three years and wants her cannabis line to reflect her iconic style.
She also shares what it means to her to be very few women or women of color founders in the cannabis world.
“I’m honored that Carlos is letting me in right now, you know what I’m saying? Seriously. It’s easy to get your own strain with someone, whatever, but I feel like this is such a perfect partnership, such a perfect situation,” she said.
And when it comes to testing out the different strains and flavors of her new line, the 47-year-old says that she has had the pleasure of trying a few things out.
“I’ve always been the type of person who will try it out. I test my product. I tested this and I was like ‘Oh yeah, this is that gas.’,” she tells Forbes.
Her future plans are for her Aphrodisiac cannabis to be available in New York, Michigan, and New Jersey.
“I am looking forward to my fans taking this journey with me,” Kim says.
Lil Kim’s has also teamed with CampNova, a marketing and distribution tech platform based in Northern California, HighTimes reports. Her partnership includes promoting products through video and audio.
CampNova is meant to socialize the process of ordering products, according to co-founder Emery Morrison.
