While Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) has been embroiled in numerous controversies in recent years, he has shared that his happiness is through the roof.

In a recent interview with Hypebeast magazine, Ye shared why, at this stage of his life he's never been happier.

“This is the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” Ye told the outlet. “I’m with my wife, with Aus Taylor, my visual director at YZY, with Dov Charney. All year, I’ve been with loved ones, doing it independently ourselves.”

He also shared what fuels his drive to keep creating after more than 20 years of being one of pop culture’s most recognized innovators.

“The thing is, wind can blow a house down but a bird still needs wind to fly. So without the wind, there’s no flying,” he said.

“And there are times where you are flying against the wind. There are times when you’re flying with the wind,” he continued. “My current single ‘Carnival’ is the number one song in the world right now. That gives me drive.”

Adding to his joy, Ye released his long-anticipated album VULTURES 1 with Ty Dolla $ign under the group name ¥$ earlier this year.

The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 148,000 album-equivalent units.

The album's first single "Talking / Once Again",  featuring North West went to number 30 on the Billboard 100, and  "Carnival", featuring Playboi Carti and fellow rapper Rich the Kid, landed at number one.
