H.E.R.’s Two-Day ‘Lights On Fest’ Returning With Jazmine Sullivan As Headliner
Five-time Grammy Award-winning R&B artist H.E.R. and Live Nation have teamed up to bring back the “Lights On Festival” after postponing it in 2021 due to COVID-19.
H.E.R.'s career began in 2016 after releasing her teenage EP, followed by H.E.R. Volume 2 in 2017—a second EP that reached the Top 10 Billboard R&B charts. She then started gaining mainstream traction after the release of her award-winning self-titled project and a viral duet with r&b singer Daniel Caesar, “Best Part.”
The guitar-bearing singer has also started pursuing acting endeavors, starring as Belle in ABC’s Beauty and the Beast Live this past December, and will join the all-star cast of The Color Purple musical film adaptation later this year, all at just 26 years old.
With great talent comes great responsibility, so in 2019, H.E.R. launched the first female-owned and aggregated r&b music festival in decades, the “Lights on Festival”. In the past, it has featured artists such as Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, and Ty Dolla $ign, so this year is no different.
As a bay area native, H.E.R. hosts the festival on her home turf at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, on September 16th and 17th.
Soul powerhouse Jazmine Sullivan will be joining as headliner for the festival. Other big names in the lineup include artists like PARTYNEXTDOOR, Alex Vaughn, Don Toliver, DVSN, Doechii, and more.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from Thursday, June 29 at 12 pm PT to 10 pm PT, with the general sale launching Friday, June 30 at 12pm PT on Ticketmaster.
Now post-pandemic, fans are eager to return to the festival scene, using this September weekend as the perfect kickoff. Announced on her birthday, fans were uber-excited on Instagram, one commenting, “ANDDDDDD….. WE’RE BACK, BABYYYY!!!!! LIGHTS ON IS LIT!! BUT FIRST, LET’S GO BIRTHDAY!!! 🔥🔥”
