Snoop Dogg's love for cannabis landed him in a Texas jail this weekend.

According to TMZ, the "How High" star's tour bus was pulled over at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas for a routine search by border patrol. Drug-sniffing dogs turned up marijuana in a trash can on the bus. The rap star, who has a medical marijuana license that is valid in California, admitted to being the owner of the pot.

Officers promptly took the rapper into custody because the card has no bearing over Texas state law, which has a zero tolerance policy for weed.
Snoop has since been released, but only after receiving a citation for a misdemeanor. If convicted, the Doggfather faces up to 180 days in jail.

The Cali rap legend is currently on tour with Wiz Khalifa promoting the soundtrack to their buddy film, Mac and Devin Go to High School.
