There is much, much more to Tamar Braxton's departure from The Real than meets the eye.
After much speculation from fans and critics as to exactly why she got axed from the daytime talk show, new reports claim executives thought the youngest of the Braxton clan was too "urban" and over-the-top for viewers to relate.

The Daily Mail reports there were several factors that came into play when cutting Tamar from the show, with one of the major ones being that her "ghetto" persona was looked down by focus groups.

According to sources, the show's execs first saw an opportunity to give Tamar the boot when she signed on to compete on Dancing With the Stars, causing them to adjust her schedule on The Real and book guest co-hosts to take her place in her absence.

"While she was on Dancing With the Stars, producers realized the show could survive without her," a source explained. "It was peaceful on set, as the other four ladies are quite easy to work with, and the ratings maintained and at times, went up depending on who was guest co-hosting the show."

This is where the focus groups come into play. While Tamar was out shooting Dancing With the Stars, Telepictures, the show's parent company, decided to conduct focus groups on the show to see what could be done to improve it seeing as they had just been renewed for two additional years. This is where they found that Tamar was not as popular as they thought.

"The focus group research showed that most educated and working women did not identify with Tamar's show vernacular and her use of the words known to be popular among drag queens and some gay men — phrases like 'get your life,' 'where they do that at,' 'have several seats,'" the source said. "It was even said she seemed more suited to be a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race on Logo instead of a talk show host on The Real."

The source went on to add the research found showed that most educated and working women found her to be "ghetto" and "her aggressive eye-rolling, neck-rolling and the smacking of her mouth were indicative of 'stereotypical behavior that African-American women have worked years to overcome.'" 

Tamar also allegedly didn't have the best relationship with the show's executive producer Rachel Miskowiec, who had a verbal dispute with the singer on set. She allegedly verbally scolded Tamar in earshot of other staffers after the Braxton Family Values star became upset after losing a game during the taping.

"It was an ugly scene," the source said. "Pinterest was sponsoring the segment and Tamar was genuinely upset she was losing the game... She really acted out during the taping in front of the studio audience and then exploded behind the scenes once the show was done."

Due to her alleged outburst, producers had to heavily edit the segment to make it suitable to air on television, but executives were upset because the sponsor was present on set and witnessed the entire ordeal.

The report also clears up those rumors that Tamar's former co-hosts were to blame for her firing. According to the source's account, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai, Loni Love, Tamera Mowry-Housley, and Tamar all received phone calls from Telepictures/Warner Bros. on Saturday, May 21, informing them that the decision was finalized to move on without the "Love & War" songstress.

"Everyone was caught off guard," a source close to the show's production said. "None of them saw it coming and everyone was completely blindsided by the decision."

All five cast members were shocked by Tamar's sudden firing because the ladies had just wrapped up a new promotional photo shoot for their upcoming third season, with Tamar included in the shots. They were all also planning to travel to New Orleans together over the July 4 weekend to shoot a multi-day taping special at the Essence Festival.

While the news of Tamar's firing is still fresh, two of her co-hosts have publicly shared their love for her on social media, wishing her the best in her future endeavors.
