Joe Budden Claims Drake Challenged Him to Release 25 Diss Records for $10,000
Joe Budden isn’t letting up against Drake. He’s already initiated a full-fledged beef and anytime Drizzy throws any type of shade his way, Joey replies swiftly.
Well, now things got a little weirder as Budden recently appeared on the Be Honest With Cari Champion podcast and claimed that Drake had previously contacted him to invite him to a few of his shows, which then turned into a passive-aggressive joke fest Budden didn’t know how to react to.
“For me, there was absolutely zero to say at all, and then he sent me a very passive-aggressive [Instagram] DM. I didn’t even know how to take it,” Budden explained to Champion. “Then he continued to send them. I said, ‘Whoa, OK.’ That’s why I couldn’t tell you we’re cool today because it sounded like a man who was very hurt and didn’t want to talk to Joe.”
The Harlem native continued about the interaction and revealed how Drake dared him to release 25 diss records between the time of their DM conversation and one of his New York City shows that would happen in early August.
“He started off with, ‘I would like to formally invite you to one of my four Madison Square Garden shows, August 4… And I bet you can’t release 25 diss records between now and then.’ So then there was the laughing emoji. I don’t know if he’s laughing or joking at this point. Then he followed that with, ‘If you can, I will give you $10,000. Lol. Joey!!!’ I didn’t know how to take that.”
Hmmm?? The whole thing sounds a little strange and it’s hard to create a space for this in the whole Budden/Drake beef time line. Budden says that he replied to the bet by saying he could possibly get Drake 20 diss records by then.
Of course, Joe Budden wasn’t going to end the interview without throwing some sort of shade at the Toronto rapper. He doubled down on his previous claims that Drizzy had cosmetic surgery performed on his abdomen.
“We’ve never heard of a male emcee [getting liposuction]. That’s why it’s a big deal. That’s the only reason it’s even funny,” Budden said. “I would never say it just to poke fun. That’s accurate.”
