Rapper Nick Blixky Found Dead At 21 With Multiple Gunshot Wounds
The New York police department is on the lookout for suspects after rising rapper Nick Blixky was reportedly shot and killed in Brooklyn this past weekend.
On Monday (May 11), CNN reported that Blixy, born Nickalus Thompson, was found unconscious and unresponsive with several gunshot wounds in front of a building near Brooklyn’s Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood.
According to the Associated Press, police discovered Blixy after receiving a 911 call about a shooting in the area at around 9:30 p.m ET. Emergency responders quickly rushed him to Kings County hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Blixky was just 21 years old.
Further details pertaining to the circumstances of his death have yet to surface, and no arrests have been made thus far. Blixky was involved in Brooklyn’s burgeoning drill scene. He was on the rise after the success of his single, “Drive The Boat,” which has amassed more than 2.4 million views on YouTube since it was released in December 2019.
Nakim Garrison, a representative for Thompson, told NBC News by email: "He was signed to me as an artist, and after working with him he became family. Very great young man I highly respected, and I don’t respect that many young men in today’s society.”
Just hours before he was killed, Blixky announced on his Instagram that he was gearing up to drop a new mixtape, Different Timin, in early June.
