Buddie, a member of the Atlanta rap quartet Dem Franchize Boyz, has reportedly passed away.

Via the group’s Instagram page, a post on Sunday (August 25) of numerous pictures of the rapper was accompanied by the caption, "R.I.P Buddie you Will be Missed #demfranchizeboyz."

Jermaine Dupri, who signed the group to his So So Def label in 2005, subsequently confirmed the tragic passing and revealed a cause in the hashtags. "'They call me Doctor Doc I prescribe what a n***a need," he posted on IG, quoting Buddie's verse from DFB’s hit, "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It." "#ripbuddy may your soul rest easy #demfranchiseboyz. #f**kcancer."

Fellow group member Parlae also reacted to the news via Instagram with a photo of Buddie and the caption, "#RestEasyBuddie aka WeeFli #DemFranchizeBoyz #DFB #DemFranchiseBoys."

It isn’t clear what type of cancer Buddie, born Gerard Tiller, died from. Last year, the group was scheduled to reunite for Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def 25th Anniversary Cultural Currensy Tour, which was eventually cancelled.
