Monica Announces New Album, Code Red
R&B songstress Monica is ready to return to music and her eighth studio album is already in production, with a title confirmed.
Reportedly set for a release later this year, the follow-up to 2012's New Life is dubbed Code Red. The Grammy-winning singer made the announcement on her Instagram page with a photo of a red bar code above the mysterious title. The accompanying caption read, "#AlbumComingSoon #CodeRed."
Monica also revealed that Atlanta-based producer Polow Da Don is lending his magic to the album's creation, elaborating on a recent recording session for the LP. Looks like Mo is working with new talent on this project as, in the photo, she can be seen in the studio with up-and-coming singer/songwriter Jo'zzy.
Monica and Polow, who are actually cousins, have been working on Code Red for some time. Back in August 2014, the singer took to Instagram to reveal their partnership. "#BackAtIt #PolowAndMo," she wrote in the caption.
The two have released two songs together previously, "Without You" and "Here I Am (Remix)," featuring Trey Songz.
