Kevin Gates Goes On Bizarre Rant About Colin Kaepernick And Says We Shouldn't Kneel For Anthem
Usually it’s one or the other: either you’re for Colin Kaepernick’s social justice movement and support kneeling during the National Anthem or you’re a stand at all costs person (and probably a bit racist).
For Kevin Gates, surprisingly he’s of the latter, but it has nothing to do with disrespecting the military or the anthem. He believes no one should kneel for another living man or woman.
During a now-deleted video posted to Instagram, the Louisiana rapper made a statement about Kaep and it’s rubbing some people the wrong way.
"A lot of people are going to look at this f**ked up," he said. "I love Colin Kaepernick. That’s my brother. I love his beautiful queen Nessa. I love these people with all my heart. He should have never took a knee.... We bow for no man under the stars but Allah. He should have stood palms up."
Gates is reportedly a practicing Muslim, so it seems that he takes his faith more seriously than anything.
Last October, Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL, accusing them of colluding and conspiring to blackball him from signing with a team. The Guardian reported on Thursday that an arbitrator ruled the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback had enough evidence for his suit to proceed in a trial-like format.
