WATCH: Chlöe Bailey Effortlessly Cover This Minnie Riperton Classic
Chlöe Bailey is breathing life into yet another classic with her own special take on the Minnie Ripperton classic, “Lovin’ You.”
Bailey headed to her Instagram on Monday (Jan. 24) donning a bright purple two-piece set to perform the 1975 hit that made its mark on the Billboard Hot 100.
“No one else can make me feel/The colors that you bring/Stay with me while we grow old/ And we will live each day in the springtime,” the crooner sang. “‘Cause lovin’ you/ Has made my life so beautiful/ And every day of my life/ Is filled with lovin’ you.”
This is the first time that fans have seen the older sister of Chloe x Halle show off her vocals with a cover in 2022. Last year, the 23-year-old crooner gave her personal cuts for Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain,” Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open,” Adele’s “Easy on Me,” and The Weeknd’s “Earned It.”
For the 2022 NAACP Image Awards, Bailey received four nominations for Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Soul/R&B Song, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration for her cover of “Georgia on my Mind,” with her sister Halle Bailey.
