Jeannie Mai Jenkins Reflects on Divorce, Credits Daughter Monaco as Her ‘North Star’
In the latest episode of “Sherri,” Jeannie Mai Jenkins, 44, delved into her experiences and insights regarding her 22-month-old daughter, Monaco, whom she shares with her estranged husband, Jeezy.
When Sherri Shepherd asked how “The Real” veteran was doing amidst her divorce, she replied that she was taking it day by day.
“Monaco? That is my North Star. And I can definitely tell you that, I don't know if I would handle this the same way without her,” Jenkins said.
“Because today, I'm able to look at her and I can say what would I advise you? If you were in my shoes? And it changes everything. So I'm so thankful to be a mom and I'm thankful to have her.”
The fashion expert married Jeezy in Atlanta in March 2021 and they welcomed Monaco in January 2022. In September, the “Put On” rapper filed for divorce from Jenkins, stating in court documents that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
During the episode, the former co-host of “The View” expressed her fondness for Monaco, highlighting a video shared on Instagram that captured their heartwarming mother-daughter connection.
The Instagram post features a series of photos and videos showcasing Jenkins' daughter's arrival at the airport with her grandmother and the subsequent joyous reunion with her mother. The fourth slide features a video capturing Jenkins welcoming her daughter outdoors and the toddler responding with an adorable dance.
“Monaco is funny, because she's definitely a mood, and on her best days she’s a ‘schmood,’” Jenkins said. “Like she really isn't about the kisses and hugs. She's really like, ‘Mommy, mommy, not now.’ She's usually like that.”
“And we have this dance... You can already picture it. If we're at the club 20 years from now, I don't know! But, that is my everything, and we have that vibe and we see each other and she knows I got her.”
