In the two years that they’ve been together, Quavo and Saweetie have become one of hip hop’s most popular couples and earlier this week the Migos rapper shared a screenshot of the first message he sent to Saweetie. It all started with an Instagram DM in 2018. Quavo broke the ice by sliding into Saweetie’s DMs with a snowflake emoji in reference to her hit song, “Icy Girl.” Simple yet effective as Saweetie replied back with a ramen bowl emoji, acknowledging the Migos’ hit song, “Stir Fry. Quavo then followed that up with, “u so icy Ima glacier boy.” Their romance unfolded from there and, as the saying goes, the rest is history.

In turn, this has led to people trying to replicate the same success and, while it worked for Quavo, the results aren’t exactly panning out as well for others. 

Later that day, Quavo shared a screenshot via Twitter of someone trying to slide into their potential partners' DMs with his technique. The individual sent a snowflake emoji only to receive a confused question mark back. The individual then tried to employ Quavo’s follow-up but to no success.

Quavo reacted with three laughing emojis before he assured them that “Snow flake is The New One! It’s WORK Trust.” The rapper had a similar reaction to another attempt from someone who tweeted out a screenshot of some of the DMs of women they had slide into, including Rihanna, Zendaya, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Vanessa Hudgens, Rubi Rose, and a bunch of other women. 

Even the Washington Wizards got in on the action. The NBA team sent snowflake emojis to all the other squads in the league, writing, “[Quavo], we’ll let you know how it goes.” Hilariously, it worked like magic as the Wizards elicited a few responses from the teams. 

Though, the Atlanta Hawks quipped, “you’re in our DMs, but [Quavo] and [Saweetie] are courtside at our games. We are not the same.”
