Less than a month after the Los Angeles Police Department opened a criminal extortion investigation case for upwards of $20 million in vintage Jay Z master recordings, the Roc Nation honcho and his camp have decided not to pursue the charges, TMZ reports.  

Hov had filed a grand larceny complaint against former Roc-A-Fella producer Chauncey Mahan, who allegedly tried to extort Live Nation (Jay's Roc Nation partner) for $100,000 in "storage fees" for old tapes he said he kept in a Cali storage facility all these years.

Mahan has maintained his innocence, claiming that he was hired to "protect" Jay Z's music over a decade ago. The LAPD got involved when Mahan and Jigga's camp reportedly met at the storage facility in April. Mahan was greeted by police and detained for questioning.

In the end, the producer was not arrested. He turned over the masters, which were recorded between 1998 and 2002, to the LAPD, who will keep the recordings in their possession until a civil court judge reviews the case.
