Rihanna to Support Invisible Children Campaign
Support for Invisible Children's "Stop Kony" campaign against child trafficking has gone viral over the last few days, and it's not just your Facebook friends who have been moved. Rihanna was reportedly so compelled by the movement that she plans to partner with the Invisible Children organization to help spread the word in a new video.
The "Stop Kony" campaign took off in response to a 30-minute YouTube documentary created by Invisible Children that exposes a Ugandan warlord named Joseph Kony, who recruits children as soldiers and prostitutes. According to TMZ, Rihanna saw the video and reached out to Invisible Children to help raise awareness. The two parties are said to be mulling another video to be produced with a quick turnaround.
Since the documentary was released, Rih Rih has already taken it upon herself to spread the message on Twitter, posting about the subject several times.
"#KONY2012 Spread the word!!!," she wrote, later adding "PLEASE go to http://www.Invisiblechildren.com Even if its 10 minutes... Trust me, you NEED to know about this! #1LOVE."
We'll have more on Rihanna's involvement with the KONY campaign as the story develops.
